imperfections

I believe that imperfection is beauty.

Nobody is perfect. We may think that some women or men are close to perfect.. but that isn’t what we should be thinking. I am guilty of comparing myself to other beautiful young women out there. I think ‘wow I wish I had her skin.’ or ‘If I was 10 lbs skinnier I could look like her.’

We need to love ourselves in order to be happy with our inner self and our life. If you want to lose weight or wear makeup or go out and buy a new wardrobe. Do it. But do it for yourself because we should only live to please ourselves and not others. Don’t go out and buy a short dress or skirt to impress a boy. If you want to buy that short skirt, wear it with class and respect yourself.

Your imperfections are what make you beautiful. You are beautiful in your own way. The people out there who see you for who you are, are the people you want to keep in your life.

Sometimes life isn’t kind. Sometimes it is so hard. Sometimes it feels like it will never get better. The highs aren’t high enough and the lows are so low, you are drowning and cant breathe any longer. But you cant give up because it does get better. It gets a hell of a lot better. People betray you. They leave their mark on you and it is up to you to take that and make it change you for the better. Things happen in life that you cant control. We make mistakes. I make mistakes.

I had to make the biggest decision I will ever have to make in my life. I am young woman and this was the hardest thing I ever had to got through and I still struggle with what I did in January. It has changed me. It’s changed how I feel about myself and my life. I am imperfect.

Love who you are and don’t let people impact you and your life in a negative way. Learn from your mistakes and others mistakes as well. Life doesn’t have to be hard.Your imperfections make you who you are. Embrace them.

Astrology and Zodiacs

Your zodiac sign corresponds to constellations as they appeared more 2,200 years ago! The science behind astrology may have its roots in astronomy but don’t confuse these two disciplines. Astronomy can explain the position of the stars in the sky but it’s up to you to determine what, if anything, their alignment signifies.

The ecliptic, or the position of the Sun as it’s perceived from the revolving Earth, passes through the constellations that formed the Zodiac – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. Zodiac signs were originally determined by which constellation the Sun was “in” on the day you were born.

The first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere was once marked by the zero point of the Zodiac. Astronomers call this the vernal equinox and it occurs as the ecliptic and celestial equator intersect.

Around 600 BCE, the zero point was in Aries and was called the “first point of Aries.” (Figure 1) The constellation Aries encompassed the first 30 degrees of the ecliptic; from 30 to 60 degrees was Taurus; from 60 to 90 degrees was Gemini; and so on for all twelve constellations of the Zodiac.

Over the past two-and-a-half millennia, this wobble has caused the intersection point between the celestial equator and the ecliptic to move west along the ecliptic by 36 degrees, or almost exactly one-tenth of the way around. This means that the signs have slipped one-tenth—or almost one whole month—of the way around the sky to the west, relative to the star. art with meaning – mixed media

I am incredibly pleased as to how my mixed media art project has turned out. I have learned many new skills that will be able to improve my future artwork. It has also impacted me in a personal way. Art is a gateway for anything that can be dreamed of and it can be achieved no matter the resources. Art comes from the mind, heart, and soul. It is incredibly powerful.

As I was painting the color black over my white canvas, I realized that anything is possible on this one canvas. Any color, any pattern, any material can be transformed into a beautiful picture. The possibilities are endless. Flipping through magazines for small pieces of character, words, and symbols to be shown on my canvas in a rather messy collage made me realize the diversity and individualism there is in the world. The mixing of the small pieces and the wrinkling of them symbolizes how we blend together in an imperfect way. The spreading of the pieces over the canvas and the splatter paint symbolizes how imperfections are actually the perfections in the world. The adding of the word “live” and the mandalas adds character and incorporates more life into the art that has been created.

I learned new skills with ink and paint rather than pencil but the most important thing for me was learning more about how art can affect the way I live. Art lets us express what we are feeling and gives us the opportunity to spread a message. With art, the possibilities are endless  and I believe it helps to see the world in a different way.IMG_2351

Living through Art

FullSizeRenderArt is a passion and it gives us a way to show how we feel and how we live.

I depend on my art. It personally gives me a way to express myself. The way it makes me feel is incredible. It is indescribable. Everything negative in my life and in this world goes away. I encourage others to use art as a way to relax and use it as a medicine. I find myself through my artwork and I want to help others find themselves through their own style of art as well.

Out Of Your Comfort Zone

doubts5.31.15

So lately, I have noticed how society acts and looks at the people who go out of their comfort zone to be who they are and embrace themselves.

Society doesn’t accept the people who don’t act the way they want them to and that is unacceptable. Everyone should have the right to be who they are and not be ashamed of themselves.

I personally live in a place where if you don’t act a certain way, you are an outcast. I would much rather be myself and an outcast than fit in with the people here and be lying to myself. I am different than these people and I am okay with that. I love art, being creative, loving, and kind. While everyone around me is only living to please society.

Embracing who you are is the most important thing you can do and I encourage and respect all who do. I do not pity the people who only try to please society because they are building themselves up for failure and they will fall and no one will be there to catch them.

Love yourself, be yourself. Don’t care what others think. You are important. You have meaning. Live our life the way you want to.

Love,

Emilee
